Things To Do In Monterey
Living in Central California has its perks. We are located in the middle of three National Parks (Yosemite, Kings Canyon, & Sequoia) and 2 1/2 hours from the waters (Pismo Beach, Southwest or Monterey, Northwest). Monterey is approximately 2 hours south of San Francisco and 5 hours north of Los Angeles. Its coastline showcases the scenic view of the pacific coast. Other than the beautiful beaches, here is a list of things to do in Monterey.
Monterey Bay Aquarium
This nonprofit aquarium is one of the most popular aquariums in California. The aquarium not only provides great exhibits and entertainment but educates and inspires visitors of marine life, sustainability, and conservation. The aquarium has 4 large tanks with 1.2 gallons of water with a total of 35,000 animals.

The Cannery Row
A unique shopping, dining, and entertainment spot in Monterey! This is an absolute must-visit and offers plenty of entertainment for the family.
Fisherman’s Wharf
From shopping to dining to whale watching. Our favorite spot for dinner and watching the beautiful bay as the sun starts to set.
17-Mile Drive
A 17-mile scenic drive of Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove. If visiting for the first time, keep an eye on those red dashed lines to stay on track. You may end up wandering the neighborhood like we did the first time.
Hours: Daily Sunrise to Sunset
Admission: $10.50 per vehicle
Carmel By The Sea
This one-square-mile village offers unique shopping, dining, and wine tasting experience walking distance from Carmel Beach. Make sure to try some wines. After all, Monterey is also known for its wines.
Bixby Bridge
This 714 ft in length, 24 ft wide, and 260 ft high Bridge opened in 1932 and is located only 120 miles South of SFO! It has an incredible architectural design and has one of the most scenic views of the pacific coast. One more crazy thing! The land North and South of the bridge was actually privately owned until 2001.
McWay Falls & McWay Cove
This beautiful 80-ft tall waterfall on the coast of Big Sur once falls directly into the ocean. A large landslide in 1983 slid sand into the ocean and formed the beach we see now. During high tide, you can still find the McWay Falls kiss the ocean when the waves roll ashore. It is definitely worth a stop!
