Best Places to Eat in Fresno

I have always been a fan of trying local restaurants when traveling — or when I am too lazy to cook that evening. While our city presents hundreds of good places to eat. Here are some of my favorites and would say my current Best Places to Eat in Fresno!

7. Dog House Grill

Location: 2789 E Shaw Ave, Fresno, CA 93710

When I worked at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Clovis as a Guest Services Representative — aka Front Desk, I sent people at the Dog House Grill since it is just right around the corner. It is located right across from the SaveMart Center and has been a popular Sports Bar. It was everyone's favorite place back in college. Expect to walk and park on the street instead of the restaurant's parking lot. The restaurant is always busy so make sure to plan your visit. I personally usually order their Steak Cobb Salad with no bell pepper and bleu cheese with a basket of fries with bbq sauce and ranch on the side. The place is known for its Tri-tip Sandwich, don't forget to grab one to try!

6. House of Juju's

Location: 565 Pollasky Ave #101 Clovis CA 93612

I have said it before, I will say it again, you should try those sliders! Before I was a pescatarian, I would usually order their sliders — Dragon Lady, Athena & Leticia — with Roasted Sliders and Spicy Garlic Aioli. Their Calamity Jane is also good! Now, I usually indulge in their delicious Shrimp or Snapper Tacos.

5. The Crawfish Guy

Location: 5730 N First St. Fresno, CA 93710

Before learning about the Crawfish Guy, the family and I would drive 3 hours to San Jose to eat at the Boiling Crab. Truthfully, I do like the restaurant decor, vibe, and flavor of Crackin Cajun more than the Crawfish Guy but receives very poor service at Crackin Cajun. We love Crawfish Guy's service and the staff here is very friendly and welcoming! They have fresh live crustaceans. Our go-to order is snow crab, crawfish, shrimp, and mussels in Medium All-Some Sauce with sausage, potatoes, and corn. Don't forget to order those garlic noodles, you will thank me later!

4. Colton's Social House

Location: 1150 Shaw Ave Clovis CA 93612

Colton's Social House is located by the Sierra Vista Mall / Sierra Vista Cinemas 16. Right now, during the Covid-19 pandemic, they have really pretty outdoor seating with bonfire and string lights. Really pretty vibe! I do prefer their deep-fried deviled eggs (they usually come with bacon) than the regular. Their clam chowder is one of the best in Fresno and their Salmon plate is delicious! Their Shrimp Taco Plate also has great flavor!

3. Heirloom

Location: 8398 N. Fresno Suite 101, Fresno, California 93720

Definitely Cody and I's favorite lunch spot. The atmosphere is great and definitely has tasty food. Their buffalo cauliflower (ask to sub the bleu cheese for their house sauce), carbonara, and Brussel sprouts (side dish) are my faves! Their teriyaki fried rice and broccoli salad are also great side dishes. Ask for their avocado ranch sauce if you are ordering a salmon plate.

2. Five

Location: 1110 E Champlain Dr Fresno CA, 93720

Fave date night spot in Fresno if I am in the mood for Italian (which is most of the time). You really can't go wrong with their Bruschetta before a big meal! Cody loves their Filet but their Chilean Seabass and Blackened Salmon are a must-try! Annex Kitchen is another great Italian restaurant and they serve fresh local ingredients!

1. Pismo's Coastal Grill

Location: 7937 N. Blackstone Ave, Fresno, Ca 93711

Pismo's Coastal Grill and its sister property Westwoods BBQ & Spice Co are both great but Pismo's has got to be my favorite! This Sauteed Halibut in Black Truffle risotto is a dinner special. The vegetables are full of flavor and the halibut melts in your mouth! If you are looking for starters, I recommend their crab cake, however, this special scallop appetizer with cauliflower and white sauce is amazing! Hann loves their fish sandwich and Cody really enjoys their chowder — half and half is the way to go!
