6 Months With JDV by Hyatt
Today marks exactly 6 months since I started working for Hyatt but in a week and a half, I will be departing to pursue a new adventure. This is absolutely bittersweet because I love and believe in the brand ever since I started working for the franchise Hyatt Place.
Highlights
Tour Connection LA — Huntington, California
Four days after I started, I flew to Huntington Beach to represent my hotel at Tour Connection LA, which was held at Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. It was my first time attending but met so many great people and learned so much. Because it was last minute, I stayed at Pasea Hotel & Spa and enjoyed the beach view. It was a short but awesome stay!
Rainbird FAM
We held our first FAM for our new fine dining restaurant, Rainbird, at the end of March. We had several writers from different magazine and luxury travel partners join us for a fun visit in Merced. Not only we have the breathtaking Yosemite, but have rich history as well as cool spots like Vista Ranch and Corbin Cash Distillery — they make spirits from Sweet Potatoes!
Event Manager Training — Frisco, Texas
At the end of April, I attended an Event Management Training in Texas. This is probably my favorite trip and most educational for me. I was surrounded by talented Event Sales and Planning Managers who really gave amazing tips and tricks on how to manage events successfully. Also, who doesn’t like Wine Synergy class?
2022 MPI WEC San Francisco
I was excited for WEC, however, it turned out to be exhausting and I was not in my A-game. The event occurred on my birthday, however my grandma just passed away two days prior and had rough moments. This event did help me focus on other things. I stayed at Grand Hyatt on Stockton Street and overall had a nice time meeting new friends and partners.
El Cap Open House
This August, we had the hotel’s first Open House and invited our community. The hotel opened during a crazy time last year, and because of the pandemic, didn’t get to really showcase what it has to offer. Definitely a blast and learn so much during the process.
